Less Than 5 Weeks From Super Bowl, Kendrick Lamar Continues to Top Charts With ‘GNX’ Takeover
After ending the year with a crown on his head over the timeworn debate on who is the greatest rapper of all time, Kendrick Lamar is busy basking in the glory of the ripple effects of his past milestones. While Drake fans may assume his relevance and glory as an outcome of his beef with the Canadian artist, Lamar has consistently proved his success has nothing to do beyond his art, carefully snatching the credits that the opposing fandom persistently pines for. In 2025, K-Dot is staying true to this narrative with ‘GNX’ outpacing every other rap star for solo momentum.
With his Super Bowl headliner still a little down the line, the frenzy remains palpable for Lamar’s 2024 lyrical fireworks as charts refuse to leave his side.

Last year, when Kendrick Lamar kept returning to the top of the charts with little or no gaps in between, his skeptics worshipped Drake as the catalyst for his momentum. But when the rapper dropped a surprise album, ‘GNX,’ a mic-drop moment on every such baseless speculation was rendered inevitable. Just a week into the new year, amidst rising anticipation of the Super Bowl, K-Dot’s ‘GNX’ has single-handedly left every contemporary in the dust on Rap TV’s Top Albums chart.
This week, Rap TV’s list is led by Lamar, followed by Tyler, the Creator’s ‘Chromakopia,’ Rod Wave’s ‘Last Lap,’ J. Cole’s ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive,’ and Tyler, the Creator’s ‘IGOR.’ However, that is not all about K-Dot’s supremacy in the hip-hop realm. Lamar additionally occupies 4 out 5 spots on Rap TV’s this week’s Top Songs chart with ‘luther,’ ‘tv off,’ ‘squabble up,’ and ‘30 for 30.’ The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s ‘Timeless’ stands fifth.
This year’s first week was all about Kendrick Lamar for hip-hop fans, but the last year was no less with Rap TV’s special crown ending the year-long debate.
Rap TV’s prestigious honor for Kendrick Lamar in 2024
It may take a whole re-visioning of the history books to pinpoint the origins of the lyrical grudge match between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. However, it has a unanimous consensus that the rap battle was for the ages. While fans had been on their toes to end the GOAT debate for once and all, Rap TV answered the prayers, crowning Lamar’s ‘Like That’ as the Song of the Year. ‘Like That’ was Lamar, Future, and Metro Boomin’s third and final single from the collaborative studio album, ‘We Don’t Trust You.’
