The MTV VMAs are just around the corner. And much like every year, fans are looking forward to a treasure trove of pop culture moments, killer performances, red carpet glam, and perhaps even a few spicy controversies on the glitzy night. This year, the VMAs, true to its form, are bringing on a ton of star-studded guests. While an emerging sensation like Sabrina Carpenter is stepping on the VMA stage as a first-time performer, legendary Lenny Kravitz is making a grand return after his decades of hiatus.

Lenny Kravitz is ready to take the VMAs stage on September 11. But that is not all. The ‘Fly Away’ musician is sparing no effort to build anticipation for his performance ahead of the big night. Instead of keeping things secret, Kravitz has asked his fans as to which songs they would like him to perform at the VMAs. This comes right on the heels of his standout performance at the UEFA Champions League finals, for which fans had requested many of the artist's classics as well.

It was announced last week that Lenny Kravitz, along with other popular artists like Halsey, Lisa, and Benson Boone, will be gracing the stage at the 2024 VMAs. Kravitz’s performance will mark his first appearance at the VMAs in over 25 years. The last time he performed was with Madonna for her ‘Ray of Light’ in 1998. And this might explain why fans are excited to see him revisit some of his classic hits.

Fans flood their song requests for Lenny Kravitz's VMA performance

Lenny Kravitz has never failed to steal the show at the VMAs. His last solo performance at the famed musical gala was back in 1993, when he delivered a rendition of ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ and walked away with the Best Male Video award. While he is up for an award this year too, what fans are most thrilled about is his return to the VMA stage after nearly three decades. And Kravitz’s social media poll for his performance song has only added to the excitement.

While some fans called for the classics, others hoped Kravitz will surprise them with something new. Meanwhile, some fans were confident that no matter the track, Kravitz would still steal the show.
