Although the 2024 MTV VMA has taken the entertainment industry by storm, a sudden shake-over that emerged from Kendrick Lamar's arsenal has overshadowed the buzz. The sudden change in trends followed as the rapper dropped a new song out of nowhere, leaving fans wondering. While some smell a rekindled spark, others are just surprised at the arbitrary act. Nonetheless, the surprise release has swiftly shifted the focus away from the VMAs, dominating trends and captivating fans worldwide.

Far as he may have been from arguably one of the biggest nights of music, Kendrick Lamar has strategically put a shoe in for next year's ceremony with a surprise track, proving that the tactic is not reserved for Drake only.

Kendrick Lamar took to his Instagram handle to surprise fans by dropping a new track, 'Watch the Party Die'. It is his first release since the timeless Drake diss, 'Not Like Us', and comes after his Super Bowl Halftime Show announcement. While fans are baffled about the exact purpose of the song, the background facts of the release have got everyone pondering.

Interestingly, the cover art of the release is a plain Nike Air Force eBay listing that went viral earlier today. While it must be certainly beneficial to Nike, fellow artists are either confused or impressed, sparking a debate about Kendrick Lamar's unconventional approach. While some have called him out for reigniting a round 2 with Drake having held it off previously, others take the significance of the date to gauge the boldness of the rapper.

What seemed like a diss to DJ Akademiks on Kendrick Lamar's new drop calling him out for pushing "propaganda for salary" and being basic, has been answered back. DJ Akademiks criticized Kendrick Lamar's surprise song drop, calling it the "wrong move". Akademiks argued that Kendrick's release contradicts his previous statement about not engaging in a "game 2".

However, that is not all. Kendrick Lamar's childhood friend Lil L/Euro Luxxk has hinted that more music is on the way, saying "That's just a teaser watch the next sh*t". Meanwhile, his unforgettable ‘Not Like Us’ has shot up the Apple music charts, reclaiming its number 1 position, in the wake of the recent release, having done enough damage to Drake already.
