According to a fresh report from Bloomberg, Coachella mastermind Paul Tollett, who launched the iconic festival in 1999, has been on the hunt for A-list headliners to lock in for next year. Tollett had his sights set on none other than Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna to bring the star power and guarantee a sold-out crowd, especially after the post-pandemic dip. However, sources say both superstars took a pass because K-Dot plans “a tour of major stadiums” after the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Rihanna apparently waved off the offer, saying she did not need the cash or the spotlight, especially while thriving in her booming business empire. As for Lamar, he is no stranger to Coachella, having rocked the main stage in 2012 and headlined in 2017. But this time, Tollett had more than just nostalgia in mind. K-Dot’s high-profile rap showdown with Drake has kept him front and center in the music world, making him the most buzzed-about rapper in town.
Aside from skipping Coachella to focus on the tour, though, the details are hush-hush. But these are not the only arenas K-Dot has been dipping his toes since he is also flexing his acting muscles like a one-man army, showing he has the range for days.
