Kendrick Lamar Releasing New Music? Here’s Everything You Need to Know About It
It is safe to say that Kendrick Lamar is the man of the hour in the hip-hop world. While the rapper has long been hailed as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, his 2024 beef with Drake, and his victory over the mogul, has taken his hype to a whole new level. Tracks like 'Like That' and 'Not Like Us' have spent weeks on top of charts this year and were either positively received or acclaimed by critics.
Now, riding on the momentum of his 2024 hype, Kendrick Lamar is reportedly cooking up more musical gems.

This year, Kendrick Lamar outshined seven other rappers to win the title of Best Male Hip Hop Artist at the 2024 BET Awards. This came as no surprise, as the Pulitzer winner has achieved major career milestones over the past year. And now, following his diss-filled 'Not Like Us' music video, Lamar is reportedly set to drop new music soon. DJ Akademiks, the internet personality who also called out Lamar last month, recently shared during his podcast, saying, "Kendrick is loading up". The hip-hop enthusiast added, "I was told Kendrick is coming".
Lamar has not just been nominated in other BET Awards categories, including Best Collaboration for 'America We Have a Problem (Remix)' with Beyoncé, but has also produced two No. 1 singles in 2024. This includes his top two singles from his diss war with Drake, ‘Like That’ with Future and Kendrick Lamar, and ‘Not Like Us,’ which had been burning up the charts and was a strong contender for Song of the Summer; however, the title still went to the current pop sensation, Sabrina Carpenter's 'Espresso'.
'Not Like Us' also shattered one of Drake's biggest streaming records, delivering yet another blow to the already defeated.

The only silver lining that came out of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s explosive war was some chart-topping bangers. However, the crown jewel of the battle turned out to be ‘Not Like Us,’ which finally led Drake to bow out with his final track. While the song packed some harsh lines, the Mustard-produced beat became the fastest rap song ever to hit 500 million streams on Spotify, breaking Drake's 'God's Plan' record.
Despite delivering the knockout punch in the showdown, Lamar did not rest. He went on to drop a music video for the track, flooded with Easter Eggs and references firing back at Drake’s accusations. While fans have no hope for Drake’s ability to give it back, despite his apparent attempts, it is still uncertain whether Lamar will throw more shade in his rumored new music, or if he has moved past the feud altogether.
