While the world is busy deciding the winner after the effort both rap icons put in for fans to marvel at, Kendrick Lamar seemed to have sneakily outshined Drake yet again with a new feat.

Even with all the divisive verdicts on the beef, the general consensus has declared Kendrick Lamar the winner, dethroning Drake after his decade-long reign. And even after this chapter in hip-hop’s story has come to a close, Lamar is still giving the ‘IDGAF’ rapper a run for his money. Recently, the Pulitzer winner’s 2024 diss track, ‘Not Like Us’ surpassed Drake’s 2018 hit ‘God’s Plan’ as the fastest rap song to reach 200M streams.
This record was not at all surprising considering the diss track has been a huge deal ever since it hit the airwaves. ‘Not Like Us’ even topped off Taylor Swift and became Apple Music’s Top 5. The track also earned the rapper over 280K within a week of its release. However, not every word about this track was singing its praises.
‘Not Like Us’ caught some heat for alleged plagiarism, all thanks to sharp-eyed fans who noticed some suspicious similarities.

Kendrick Lamar took the lead in rap warfare the moment he dropped songs like ‘Meet The Grahams’ and ‘Not Like Us’. This led fans of Drake to find every possible way to discredit the 36-year-old. Enter King Jared, the self-proclaimed soldier of Drake, who came through with some old tweets that had shocking similarities with the bars Lamar had dropped in his track, 'Not Like Us'.
Soon, fans on X joined forces to slam the ‘euphoria’ rapper for plagiarizing the lyrics of the track that had the world’s best opening thus far. The controversy stretched to the point where fans started demanding royalties for the usage of their tweets. Nonetheless, this backlash definitely did not affect the hype of the track, 'Not Like Us', as it continues to shatter records by the day.
