However, this wizard was far from content with pulling one rabbit at a time since just hot on the heels of his biggest magic trick with ‘GNX,’ he now has netizens wheezing over a surprise collaboration with SZA. Marking a collaborative reunion right after ‘GNX,’ these tricksters are vouching for permanency on people’s playlists, and safe to say, they are living up to a reputation well beyond ‘All The Stars.’

SZA dropped the highly anticipated deluxe edition of her Grammy-winning 2022 album, ‘SOS,’ titled ‘Lana’ on December 20, preceded by a lead single ‘Saturn,’ released on February 22, 2024. While the record features quite a few bigwigs of the industry, Kendrick Lamar's guest appearance makes it to the track ‘30 for 30’ produced by J. White. Although the album was pushed back by 15 hours over some last-minute fine-tuning of certain tracks, fans have rolled out the welcome mat regardless, validating it is better late than never.

According to XXL Magazine on X, ‘30 for 30’ reportedly samples R&B and funk band Switch’s ‘I Call Your Name,’ previously sampled by Rich Boy on his track, ‘Throw Some D’s.’ It is the third track from ‘SOS Deluxe: Lana,’ marking the eighth collaboration between the two artists. The track features some scathing lyrical verses from both artists, but K-Dot fans have been rooting for their own magician, who has once again left them spellbound.

While ‘GNX’ is already out there making history, all the way from Billboard to Spotify, fans now expect Kendrick Lamar to appear in more categories than one, considering the blockbuster collaborations he just cooked with SZA.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA have a long history of collaborations, and each has been a re-energized effort in improvisation. After the all-consuming Drake feud, Lamar has seized the last months of the year to reclaim his musical throne, dropping surprise after surprise for the ultimate redemption arc.
