In an unexpected turn, Ye has taken legal action against an unknown Instagram user. This legal battle stems from the unauthorized distribution of his music, as per documents obtained by TMZ. The lawsuit, led by attorney Gregory K. Nelson of Weeks Nelson, alleged that the @DaUnreleasedGod Instagram account violated copyright laws by leaking several of Ye’s tracks throughout 2023. This included a DJ Khaled collaboration and over 21 songs.
The case highlights the irreparable harm to Ye’s career and even repute. Also, the potential revenue loss due to these unauthorized leaks transpired between March and August 2023. Seeking the route of justice, Ye’s legal battle takes a jab at trade secrets and breach of legal contracts. He aims not only to cover attorney fees and related expenditures but also to secure a mandatory and permanent injunction, preventing further misuse of his confidential information and trade secrets.
West’s journey into the arena of lawsuits has played a vital role in the evolution of his moniker “Ye.” And there is no particular shortage of cases lining up against the artist.
