With inventive and trend-defining designs, his Yeezy label once attracted considerable acclaim. Although he has parted ways with Adidas, his legacy still lives on through his designs and his collections that have previously been showcased at prestigious events like the Paris Fashion Week.

It seems like the 46-year-old’s influence has once again extended beyond the music industry. Recently, a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) showcased a new line of Crocs footwear that bears a great deal of resemblance to Yeezy shoes as noted by many users on X. From the snug fit and clean lines to the chunky soles and the absence of laces, Crocs’ new shoes are rather similar to the Yeezy Foam Runners collection by West. 

In his partnership with Adidas, the ‘Graduation’ rapper helped the company rake in huge profits. By pushing the limits of urban fashion, West was also able to form partnerships with major fashion houses in the past. According to his fans, footwear companies that take inspiration from his earlier works should credit the rapper for the success of their collections that are based on Yeezy shoes. 

So, it was a given that his supporters would point out the sneaky move by Crocs. Many took to the comments section of the X post to defend West’s creative rights which may be being used by companies without his permission. 

Twitterati rallies behind Kanye West in opposition to Crocs

Earlier this month, another company by an NBA star was accused of copying the ‘Donda’ rapper’s designs as well. Back then, X was flooded with despairing comments by Ye’s fans over the scandal. With the new collection of Crocs, his fans took a similar approach. One user even went as far as to say that “Kanye is the blueprint” that has inspired Crocs to create their new line of foam footwear. 

Meanwhile, a fan of West’s designs pointed out his contributions to the industry. Another claimed that Ye was the pioneer behind such designs.

However, some people detested the design regardless of who “inspired” it.

Well, it is clear from the comments that West’s fans were quick to gather in his corner. After all, his voyage as a fashion designer is as captivating as his musical journey.
