The year 2022 was filled with controversies featuring two legendary Hollywood stars, Chris Rock and Kanye West. While the comedian reigned the Oscars segment, the rapper had a fairly more rollercoaster-esque journey. Nonetheless, these two artists go way back in history together, notably for West’s most critically acclaimed Grammy-winning album, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’. They worked on the album’s song ‘Blame Game’, where the Spiral actor featured in a hip-hop skit.

The world and hip-hop community are celebrating the genre’s 50th anniversary this month. To honor the artist that has been the generation’s pivotal hip-hop flag bearer, Donda Times posted a throwback clip from the Yeezy owner’s Wyoming bonfire in 2018. His album ‘Ye’ was released the same year in a field in Wyoming. With speakers neatly positioned around the fire, Chris Rock stepped on a small platform and gave the greatest introductions of all time.
In an event that gave goosebumps, Rock honored hip-hop and said that it was created by “free black men.” Continuing, he added, “No black man has taken more advantage of his freedom than Kanye West.” This introduction was befitting to have his fans in awe of the artist. Travis Scott’s introduction in Pompeii, Italy, followed a quick second as West marked his presence on stage after a year of absence from it.
While fans hailed Ye as the greatest hip-hop artist, others wanted more of the duo.
Kanye West and his legacy lives on since the 1990s
There is no doubt of how much the fans love Ye and Rock. Moreover, a fan even suggested that the ‘Donda’ singer could sample Rock’s words for a new song. This would be appropriate owing to the recent rounds that Kim Kardashian’s speech from Drake’s music has been making. In addition, Ye’s trademark of being fearless yet god-fearing made some fans believe in the ‘Praise God’ singer more than ever. The clip only stirred up more fanatics, reminiscing about all the ‘I Wonder’ singer’s works.
They loved the edit so much that the fans wanted it to be preserved in Ye’s museum. Not only did the Donda Academy owner win 24 Grammys, but he is also one of the most decorated hip-hop artists in history, alongside Jay-Z.
