A day after ‘Vultures’ arrived on iTunes, it already claimed the top spot on its Top 200 charts. Even today, the record is placed at No. 1 on the Worldwide & European iTunes album charts establishing West as the record holder of global chart-topping albums in most countries. Earlier, ‘Donda’ garnered this recognition as a solo in 2021. Now, ‘Vultures’ has managed to snag the position, pushing Drake to second spot in both categories.
In November last year, Drake had called out Ye in his single track, ‘Red Button’, which reignited tensions between their fandoms. The Atlanta native had even used vocals by West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian in his ‘Search and Rescue’ track in which she was believed to be speaking about her failed marriage on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. These pokes have made Ye’s victory over the Canadian rapper all the sweeter for his fans.
Even though Drake’s callouts were pretty fresh in everybody’s memories, West still showed solidarity with him when it came to addressing a greater issue than their feud.
Ye considers artists like Drake and Taylor Swift to be on his team
Besides ‘Vultures’ dominating the iTunes streaming charts, it also managed to do the same on Spotify. Although it appeared on Spotify much later, it took the 46-year-old to the second spot on the global artists ranking. He surpassed Drake there too, only falling behind Taylor Swift. However, when Spotify later removed his album, he lashed back saying that the platform is unfair to artists like himself, Drake and Swift.

According to the 24-time Grammy winner, when it comes to the collections artists make for lending the platform their music to stream, they are allegedly handed over only “half a billion” to share amongst themselves. Well, it has certainly been quite a wild ride for the father of four since his latest work has been on a roller-coaster ride ever since its release.
