Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Record House Production ‘The College Dropout’ Hits 1.8 Billion Streams
It is the year of the comebacks for the Donda Academy owner, Kanye West. Reigning with a whopping 24 Grammy awards over the years, Grammy labeled him as one of the highest-decorated hip-hop artists, tied with Jay-Z. Moreover, the actor was rumored to be already working on new music in Japan. An old friend and producer, Fya Man, revealed the ‘Runaway’ singer was busy in the intense writing process. In addition to Fya Man’s inputs, sources close to Kanye leaked how the upcoming album was “Old Ye but new with the time.”
As the ‘Donda’ singer preps for his new upcoming album, his 2004 record breaker resurfaced in the news. The album that pushed Ye into the limelight was The College Dropout, which recently hit close to two billion streams.

In an update posted on Twitter, the Yeezy owner hit 1.7 billion views for his 2004 album. The College Dropout was the second album on Ye’s shelf. In addition, it was released in collaboration with Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. And after 19 years of its release, it reached billions of views. The song with the highest number of streams was close to the amount Yeezy made in sales after its 2023 comeback.
‘All Falls Down’ topped with 462 million streams, followed by ‘Through the Wire’ at 260 million, and ‘Jesus Walks’ came a close third. The only other song in the 100 million plus streams category was ‘Slow Jamz’. The other twelve songs were in the range of scooping 24 million to 83 million streams.
Surprisingly, one of the songs that get most talked about, ‘Graduation Day’, was the lowest on the list, with 24 million streams on its belt. Owing to the hype, the album also got its own Lego-format video game 20 years after its release. Following the release of the video game at $29.99, Lego even released a figurine with Ye sporting the French beard.
While the Yeezy owner is making waves with his music, the rapper has his eyes on the Presidential run again.

Recent reports by The Sun hinted at Ye being sure about his 2024 presidential run. While the rumors about him filing his candidature made rounds a while ago, the recent news by a close source confirms his interest. They also cited him staying low and keeping his head down. While Ye focused on his presidential campaign, Dov Charney would help with the Yeezy business. On the other hand, his wife Bianca Censori was recently bestowed with his legal and financial affairs.
Even more so, he was proud of his “intelligent, unorthodox” wife who would make the perfect “perfect First Lady.” Although his 2020 run fell shot by millions of votes, the ‘Donda’ singer was sure of getting tons of votes this time. If he could handle the emotional divorce with ex-wife Kim Kardashian and rise back up from a year of controversies, the rapper believed he could do anything.
