Kanye West is not only popular for creating incredible music. The artist also showcased his creative finesse with his brainchild, Yeezy. West’s cutting-edge sneakers took the world by storm and everyone desired to get their hands on them. While Ye’s name attached to the product significantly contributed to the sneaker’s buzz, the product’s exceptional quality also made it a favorite for many. However, the rapper soon had to part ways from his partnership with the German sportswear brand Adidas, owing to his string of controversies.

Despite the deal’s termination, West continued to fill his pockets with Yeezy as the company decided to keep selling all the leftover stocks. However, as per a recent report, Adidas paused the release of the highly anticipated stock.

Recently, Complex reported an internal Adidas memo, confirming the discontinuation of the selling of leftover Yeezy stocks. As per the report, Adidas will not be selling any of the Yeezy shoes this year, which includes “internal e-com and retail as well as wholesale”. The anticipated stock included several new models, including the Bone, Onyx, and Zebra colorways of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 along with Adidas’ Yeezy 500 and 700 models.

In the report, the German luxury sportswear company did not call Kanye West’s brainchild “Yeezy”, and instead chose the codename “Aurora”. It is common knowledge that Adidas cut ties with the West owing to his anti-Semitic and White supremacist remarks. As per two retailers supposed to sell the remaining stock, the decision might have been taken keeping the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict in mind.

Kanye West might have his fair share of controversies throughout his career. However, his creative genius is something that no one can deny. Therefore, even after getting Adidas in trouble, CEO, Bjørn Gulden, called Kanye West “one of the most creative people in the world”. Gulden’s praise for the Grammy-winning rapper did not sit well with the public. This invited an online outrage among fans who were still upset with the ‘Graduation’ creator’s offensive remarks.

Adidas, in the past, went through massive losses because of Ye’s impulsive statements on sensitive subjects. And Gulden further saying that Ye maybe did not mean exactly what he said might have contributed to this decision of the giant. Keeping both this and international happenings in mind, there is a fair chance the release might not bring in as much profit as possible as per Complex.
