Kanye West loyalists have been teetering on the brink of impatience, eagerly anticipating the release of his ‘Vultures’ album for a while now. To reclaim his throne as the GOAT of rap, Ye was poised to bestow upon them his latest musical creation last month. However, the promised date continually eluded them, entangled in the intricacies of sample permissions and other hurdles. Despite the prolonged anticipation, the album’s scheduled release for tomorrow, January 12th, brought a glimmer of hope

Unfortunately for those eagerly anticipating its arrival, a fresh setback has emerged, pushing West’s album to a new launch date.

The YeFanatics X (previously Twitter) page has just announced another week of delay for ‘Vultures’. Now, the eleventh studio album by the 24-time Grammy winner carries the release date of 19th January, at least for now, unless the saga of delays continues to push it further. The update suggested that the record will carry eighteen songs!

As disheartening as this update may be, it has still improved the situation in one way. Just yesterday, sources reported that ‘Vultures’ would drop on the 26th of this month. So, it seems like the hold-up has been cut down by a week, which is promising considering the wavering faith of fans. Hopefully, his fans will be treated to his collaboration with Ty Dolla $Ign on the new promised date.

While no explanation has been offered for these setbacks, many believe it has something to do with certain tracks on the album.

What is causing the delays in Vultures’ launch?

When West premiered ‘Vultures’ at the Miami rave last month, audiences were treated to some track teasers. Among them were remixes of ‘Everybody’ by Backstreet Boys and ‘New Body’ by Nicki Minaj. However, it was later revealed that the 46-year-old did not have the necessary permissions to use either of these! Last month, it was revealed that Ye’s team was still pursuing Backstreet Boys for access to sample their track.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj outright refused to do so. It is still unclear whether West’s crew managed to achieve what they set out to do or if the tracks will be excluded from the album. So, it seems likely that the delay on what is believed to be a finished album may be caused by these serious bumps along the road. For now, fans will have to wait and see how it all turns out.
