“Kanye in Korea?”- Fans Call Foul Despite Receiving Major Announcements of a Korean Listening Party
Shifting attention away from the ‘Vultures’ release, all eyes are currently on the anticipated Korean concert of Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. The last time Ye visited South Korea was in 2010 to participate in the Summer Week held at Naksan Beach. He was also spotted dining with his accompanying peers post the event. Now, fourteen years later, Ye is rumored to be gracing the Asian country yet again for a listening party. Well, maybe it is not just a rumor anymore, as a major announcement has recently been made.
Shaun Hosanna, CEO of Channel Candy, a global music media brand that also promotes Korean events, shared an exclusive report by Xports News on Instagram. The update, stated in Korean, read, "August as target date, details being finalized". It also confirmed that the 'Donda' rapper is indeed coming to perform in South Korea after 14 years. These rumors first surfaced with the sighting of Austin Taylor, Ye's creative director, in Korea.

Taylor was seen in the Gangnam and Ilsan areas and visited various venues, including Incheon and Goyang Stadium. Rolling Stone reported that Taylor visited these facilities to finalize the concert's scheduling. Additionally, there have been numerous Yeezy pop-ups in South Korea and ongoing activities by concert promoters and PR agencies that are making the performance seem all the more likely.
Fans, however, are not to keen on having their hopes dashed yet again and are skeptical despite the major announcement.
Fans are not convinced about Ye’s South Korean show
One major reason for fans' loss of trust in Ye stems from the rapper's chronic inability to stick to deadlines. Whether it is album rollouts or events, there have been countless instances where the highly anticipated offering has been snatched away from fans just when they thought they had it. This prompted many to express their disbelief over the report, questioning, “Kanye in Korea?”
Meanwhile, some believed that this could be a great show indeed, but they are cautious, hoping it does not end up being yet another case of all talk and no action. However, the majority felt that the rumored show would not even be as impactful as everyone is hoping.

Even if fans' fears come true, it would not be a surprise. The next volumes of ‘Vultures’ are months past their release mark, and there are still no updates about it. Given the rapper's track record, who knows if the South Korean show will actually see the light of day? Nonetheless, fingers crossed!
