Last year, hip-hop culture returned to its roots when Kendrick Lamar and Drake turned the rap game into a coliseum, trading bars like gladiators while the world grabbed popcorn and placed their bets. But 2025? It turned out to be the year of Lamar. From sweeping the Grammys with his Drake diss track to making the world and one of Drizzy’s old flames groove to the same track at the Super Bowl, the Compton king made it clear: this was his reign. For a moment, it looked like Drake might retreat, lick his wounds, and regroup. However, retirement is a word that does not exist in hip-hop.
Just when the dust seemed to settle, the 6 God reignited the flames in Melbourne, Australia.

The Super Bowl LIX was a highlight for sports fans in more ways than one, but for the onlookers of the Kendrick Lamar-Drake beef? It was nothing less than a spectacle. However, Drake was surely not losing his sleep, raving at the Anita Max Win Tour in Australia instead. In an Instagram reel now going viral online from the show, Drake is caught screaming, “I survived, beef is live, spoiler alert, I never died.”
This could have been just another lyrical flex because, after all, the man knows his way around words. But considering the weight of last year’s feud, and the surgical precision of Lamar’s Super Bowl jabs—from sly shades to getting Serena Williams literally step up to the rhythm of his diss track—none are buying this as a mere coincidence even though the show is from February 9. With their hearts screaming there is something more to it, fans now see it as a subtle invitation to reignite the beef and turn that flicker into a full-blown blaze.
While this could be a very well-placed breadcrumb daring the beef to rise from the embers, Drake did more than just invite the wrath of the K-Dot army. He also won with a fan-centric gesture.

As the Super Bowl erupted in anti-Drake spirit, the Canadian rapper continued his Anita Max Win Tour in Down Under for his first Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena. Right in between his set, and before the Kendrick Lamar fury could kick off as the ultimate headline, Drake made waves with a fan-focused gesture by surprising two audience members with a combined $45,000 in cash gifts during the performance.

In clips making rounds of the Internet, a fan was caught with a sign, reading “Adonis for President,” a reference to his seven-year-old son. “On behalf of me and Adonis… we’re going to give you 25 grand for your family,” Drake responded for showing love to his son. To another fan, whose sign read, “Kiss me, it’s my birthday,” the rapper said, though “it’s a tough read on the kiss,” he will give them 20 grand to pay for the birthday dinner. Although it remains unclear what made him trace back to the feud again, at least one thing is certain: Australia did not run out of highlights just like the Super Bowl.
