Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was once known for having the most amazing properties. His real estate empire of approximately $100 million in the United States used to be the stuff of dreams. However, as life and numerous controversies caught up to Ye, the rapper stopped focusing on or investing in his luxurious properties, leading them to the point of rotting. Now, the rapper has resorted to desperate measures to offload his abandoned properties, even if it comes at a cost.

Ye recently sold off another one of his luxurious properties at a huge drop in price, just a month after selling his $14M Wyoming ranch.

One of Ye’s most extravagant possessions used to be his oceanfront mansion in Malibu, worth $57.25 million. However, over the years, the property experienced major deterioration, which made it uninhabitable. The rapper first listed his property for sale last year for $53 million, at a loss of over $4 million. Now, according to online records, Ye sold off the long-abandoned estate with the help of Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim for $39 million, an $18 million slash down from its original price.

This comes a month after Ye sold his $14 million Wyoming ranch, also known as Monster Lake Ranch, for an unspecified amount. The ‘College Dropout’ creator had ambitious plans for the ranch, where he wanted to build dome dwellings to curb homelessness and host his Sunday Service Choir. Obviously, his plans could not come to fruition. Nonetheless, the now-sold Malibu mansion could be the investment of a lifetime for its new buyer.

Jason Oppenheim has been in charge of selling Ye’s Malibu mansion for quite some time. When the property was first listed on the market in 2023, Oppenheim told The Hollywood Reporter that the abandoned Malibu property has “remarkable architectural integrity.” He especially pointed out the mansion’s concrete work, thanks to the mastery of Tadao Ando, along with the panoramic Pacific Ocean views from every room, which greatly “contributes to its value.

Ando’s architectural touch involved 1,200 tons of concrete, 200 tons of steel, and 12 pylons buried more than 60 feet deep in sand. This means the new owner would only need to fix the interior renovations to bring the property back to life. Once that is done, the property’s inherent allure could be reignited to its original form, making the Malibu mansion a golden opportunity for investors.
