The duo just made waves at the NCAA Women’s Championship with a smash-hit collaboration.

The 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division women’s basketball tournament kicked off on March 19, 2025, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Although Jennie and Doechii were not present at the venue, their smash hit track, ‘ExtraL’, was. Clippings from the tournament show the ESPN NCAA Women’s Championship tuning into ‘ExtraL’ before an advertisement break. 

‘ExtraL’ is the third single from Jennie’s debut studio album, ‘Ruby,’ featuring Doechii. The track was released on February 21, 2025, through the former’s Odd Atelier Label and Columbia Records, peaking at number 18 on the top 20 of the Billboard Global 200. Dem Jointz produced ‘ExtraL’ — a fusion of Jennie and Doechii’s characteristic musical styles, serving as a blend of pop and hip-hop.

Though Jennie cashed in on the fan frenzy, garnering quite the success with ‘Ruby,’ Doechii was not the only North Star twinkling on her gem record.

Jennie’s debut solo studio album, ‘Ruby,’ left fans anticipating from day one. And with every passing day, it only took the hype up by a notch till its release. Released on March 7, 2025, ‘Ruby’ marked Jennie’s first solo drop after detaching herself from YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023. And to ensure ‘Ruby’ had its place on the throne, she tapped on stars ranging from Childish Gambino to Doechii.

Jennie’s ‘Handlebars’ track features Dua Lipa, and she had Dominic Fike on board for ‘Love Hangover.’ Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis appear on ‘Damn Right,’ and ‘Intro: Jane’ has FKJ. While the names already speak volumes about the star power, ‘Ruby’ flexes, considering Jennie’s tunes have already surpassed the fences of musical demographics with flying colors, it is only a matter of time before it leaves its imprints across arenas beyond sports.
