J. Cole Responds to Kendrick Lamar’s Diss in His Latest Drop, '7 Minute Drill'
Last month, Kendrick Lamar dropped a surprise verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s 'Like That', where he threw some shade at Drake and J. Cole, sparking the latest beef in the rap world. And now, J. Cole has fired back in his response to the diss in his new song '7 Minute Drill' from the album 'Might Delete Later'. "Yo first sh*t was classic, yo last sh*t was tragic, yo second sh*t put n****s to sleep but they gassed it", crooned J. Cole.
Following in the footsteps of many rappers before him, Lamar declared himself the greatest MC of all time while dissing the other rappers. And in response, J.Cole also fired shots at Lamar, saying he drops "one hard verse" once every blue moon, and if he was not dissing, he would not even be talking about them. Amidst this feud, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has also hinted at his alliance.

Ye threw up an Instagram story about his 2016 banger ‘No More Parties In LA’, featuring Kendrick Lamar. With Ye having beefed with both Drake and J. Cole in the past, the internet wasted no time connecting the dots, speculating that Ye was backing Lamar. Interestingly, there is also a theory floating around that Lamar might have thrown some shade at Ye too.
The only winners in this beef are the fans, who unsurprisingly are hyped about the first big rap feud of 2024.
