Nicki Minaj definitely has a big night at this year’s MTV VMAs 2023. Not only is she hosting but also performing, set to deliver two power-packed performances. While her solo saw a preview from her upcoming ‘Pink Friday 2’ album, her second will see her alongside Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, Doug E. Fresh, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five in a tribute to 50 years of hip-hop in a while. And if this was not enough, she just won the Best Hip Hop this year for the banger hit, ‘Super Freaky Girl.’ But what stood out was her speech.

Nicki Minaj is well-renowned for her iconic and hilarious speeches at the MTV VMAs. From calling out Miley Cyrus to acting like she forgot the award she got, the list just never ends. And adding to that is now this year’s words.

Donning in an entirely brown leather fit, Minaj accepted her Best Hip Hop Moon Man. But what did steal the show were her words. Accepting the award, Minaj thanked everyone but did not leave her humor behind. She asked the audience, “Should I go mean or nice?.” After getting a response from the audience, she said, “Its Barbie B*tch,” smartly balancing out the mean and nice ratio.

Continuing to talk about how she often makes jokes and has fun, she expressed her “strong sense of gratitude” to her fans who have made her the Queen of Rap that she is. And serving justice to her title was her VMAs performance that was full of fun and also had an exciting revelation which was long suspected by fans, really channelling some pink. But this pink was not related to Barbie.

Minaj is all set to come up with her upcoming album ‘Pink Friday 2’ in November this year. While giving her heartwarming solo performance, Minaj just channeled her inner Barbie and said, “MTV it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t give you a Pink Friday 2 exclusive.” With this, Minaj gave us all a sneak peek into her soon-to-release, ‘Last Time I Saw You.’ Indeed, Minaj stepped into her favorite Sagitarrius’ shoes, Taylor Swift with this move.

Swift in a similar fashion announced ‘Midnights’ while accepting Video of the Year for ‘All Too Well.’ With three wins so far, it is yet to be seen if Swift will surpass Queen Bey’s record of the most VMAs of all time. And as for Minaj, she is set to throw some more pink with ‘Pink Friday 2.
