“It must suck”- Post Malone Explains Why He Does Not Eye the Taylor Swift-Sized Fame in His Career
Post Malone is one of the select few figures in the music industry whose success is as impressive as his boasting lineup of high-profile collaborations. Having contributed to Taylor Swift's 11th record-breaking studio album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ Malone has already achieved a top spot on the charts and secured a lasting place on listeners' playlists this year. Although Malone broadened his fan base by partnering with an artist who is a strong contender for Album of the Year, he has expressed his reasons for shying away from the level of fame embraced by the 34-year-old.
Malone, whose following is nearly as substantial as Swift's, revealed why he draws a line when it comes to achieving peak levels of glory.

Post Malone understands that acclaim often comes at a personal cost. As a result, he chooses to distance himself from the extremes of success associated with superstardom, like that enjoyed by artists such as Taylor Swift. Despite their recent hit collaboration on ‘Fortnight’ from ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ Malone recently shared with The New York Times why he believes “it must suck” to experience the reality of life for a celebrity and a self-made billionaire whose success speaks volumes on its own.
While filming the music video for ‘Fortnight,’ the singer observed the several red tapes Swift had to deal with, such as using an umbrella and drapes over the golf cart to block drones and helicopters from capturing footage. Malone acknowledged the immense pressure and calculated steps the pop star had to take, and he felt deeply "honored" to be in her presence. Though he might not be ready to embrace that level of fame himself, his own success demonstrates that he is equally popular in his own right.
Reflecting on the downsides of extreme stardom, Post Malone also cited Queen Bey as an example, noting their collaboration on ‘Cowboy Carter.’

Discussing the drawbacks of larger-than-life fame, Post Malone not only mentioned Taylor Swift but also Beyoncé, with whom he collaborated on the track ‘Levii’s Jeans’ from the ‘Cowboy Carter’ album. In his interview with The New York Times, the 'White Iverson' singer revealed that the details of Queen Bey’s country album were kept so tightly guarded that they never actually met in person.
Instead, a representative delivered the track to the 29-year-old’s compound in Utah. Malone and Beyoncé reportedly communicated primarily through text messages. Although Malone joked that the experience was “terrifying,” he was clearly honored by the opportunity. Despite his star-struck demeanor, he has made it clear that he does not foresee himself reaching such a level of fame, though it may not be long before he might need to learn from Swift and Beyoncé how to handle it.
