As Kendrick Lamar and Drake spent the better half of last year lobbing lyrical grenades at each other, splitting the rap industry, and by extension, the entire music world, into rival factions—whispers of hip-hop’s golden age making a triumphant return began to swirl. But just as the dust seemed to settle, in walks Ye, formerly Kanye West, with a Grammy nomination, a reminder that when it comes to comebacks, no one stages a grander, more confounding return than the man who never truly leaves, whether invited or not.

While the nomination solidifies that Ye is in fact expected at the Grammy Awards 2025, will the rapper actually show up?

From posting his wife, Bianca Censori, on Instagram to dropping surprise snippets and unleashing attacks on whatever seems fit for the day, Ye has so made a comeback. While fans were making amends with how he has physically started to look more like his old self, the rapper has thrown them another stick by acknowledging his Grammy nomination for 'Carnival' on Instagram and also tagging Taylor Swift in the post. To further amp up the ante, he has also been spotted in Los Angeles, where the awards are set to take stage, cementing without even a nod that the chances of Ye attending Grammys are at an all-time high.

One of the major indicators of Ye attending the Grammy Music Awards 2025 is the sudden shift in location from Japan, where has been keeping busy all this while. However, this would not be the first time when Ye would lose their senses over a probable false alarm given that the rapper, while having a thirst for appeal, has a hunger for chaos.

If Ye does end up pulling up to the Grammy red carpet, it would officially end his years-long hiatus from the award show, and with 'Bully' coming in, possibly herald the rapper back to his golden era.

Ye's comeback era

Much like controversy, comeback has also found itself within a two metre radius of Ye, whose fans have spent much of the past few years claiming that 'this' will be his big return. While 'Vultures' may have been a false alarm, the fans maybe right this time around and the change's in the rapper's outfits seems to be the biggest hint.

Ye recently traded his black uniform that he has been sporting at almost every sighting the past year for an outfit that set the Internet on fire, naturally unleashing the "I miss the old Kanye" chants. With the rapper having acknowledged his Grammy nomination on Instagram, following Taylor Swift, and creating waves in Los Angeles, it seems that the days of missing the old Ye are over.
