Is Ye Finally Going Solo in China Following ‘Vultures 2’ With Ty Dolls $ign? Here’s All You Need to Know

After a long hiatus, Ye (formerly Kanye West) took control of his career, reclaiming his place in the charts and tabloids by releasing two volumes of ‘Vultures’. This resurgence was marked by what he calls a period of contemplation. Just like the first volume, the second volume's release was drawn out over what felt like an endless calendar year. However, with its release this August, the usual Ye-coded listening parties also returned. While previous parties were met with success, the upcoming China one encountered unexpected challenges.

Recent reports now suggest a solo performance from Ye, rather than the striking duo act with Ty Dolla $ign that fans had anticipated, leaving them on the edge of their seats.

When Ye debuted in East Asia with the sold-out 'Vultures' listening experience in South Korea, fans believed his music had finally transcended familiar territories. However, soon after, buzz began about another show on the Asian continent, with a Chinese listening party initially scheduled for September 7. Though the event underwent some hiccups, recently, GoodAssSub on X confirmed the event is still on, now set for September 15, allegedly featuring a solo performance by Ye instead of the anticipated duet with Ty Dolla $ign.

Ye had previously announced the rescheduled date on Instagram, but when he swiftly deleted the post, fans worried the event might not happen—especially after rumors spread that Taylor Swift fans had petitioned the government to cancel the show. However, a more recent update confirms the event is still set to take place in Haikou City in Hainan Province. The absence of the $ in the symbolized ¥$ on the new poster seems to confirm that $ign will not be part of the event.

Although $ign might not be part of the upcoming China tour, he was the one who sparked speculation about a ‘Vultures’ project world tour which leaves plenty of chances of compensation.

Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s three-volume ‘Vultures’ marked a triumphant return to hip-hop for Ye, but with significant challenges. From issues with DSPs to rumors of his retirement, ‘Vultures’ has showcased both the glamour and struggles of musical success. However, the comeback seemed inevitable as Ty Dolla $ign fueled speculation by posting a vulture emoji next to a world map in a now-deleted Instagram story, igniting rumors of an upcoming world tour.

If the vulture emoji paired with a world map signifies a ‘Vultures’ world tour, it would mean Ye is set to embark on his first world tour in eight years. This would also be the first time in a while Ye performed for his fans, as he has recently focused on curating listening experiences. While fans have awaited a confirmed announcement, the upcoming solo performance in China suggests this long-awaited moment might be just around the corner.
