Idiot or Lazy? Fans Have a Hearty Ye Debate, Amidst ‘Vultures 2’ No Show
Talks about Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, losing relevance, have been around for a while. The main reason being his apparent inability to produce more music. The first volume of 'Vultures' was released in February this year, after numerous delays. However, it is the next volumes of the album that are becoming a never-ending wait for fans. The second volume was supposed to be out by May, but it is almost July and the album is nowhere to be seen.
Constant delays have prompted many fans to question whether the rapper is losing his creative edge or has simply become indifferent. An X user kicked off a round of discourse on the platform by comparing two songs from the first volume of 'Vultures'—'Hoodrat' and 'Forever Rollin'. The user, @yeunrlsd, boldly stated, “Ye didn't fall off, he's just an idiot.” Implying that 'Forever Rollin' is superior to 'Hoodrat', the user further commented, “he has songs like these in his vault but he will drop Hoodrat instead.”

Following the release of ‘Vultures’, a large action of fans argued that ‘Hoodrat’ was among the weakest links on the album. They criticized its poor sample and the repetitive lyric of "Hoodrat". However, a small faction also praised the song. They felt ‘Hoodrat’ showcased Ye’s artistic depth if one could look past these flaws. It was these two sections that were triggered by the tweet of @yeunrlsd.
While some fans defended ‘Hoodrat’, others went for criticism, all while analyzing why Ye is not producing music anymore.
Ye fans are split down the middle on two tracks from Vultures
‘Vultures’ turned out to be a chartbuster and broke several records. However, that did not shield it from criticism, with 'Hoodrat' being the biggest example of it. Surprisingly, some fans found ‘Forever Rollin’ worse than ‘Hoodrat’. They took to X to defend the former track, arguing that it is highly underrated.
Meanwhile, there were fans who simply disliked ‘Hoodrat’ and believed that Ye is just too "lazy" to care about good music anymore.

'Vultures 2’ is not the only thing making Ye fans uneasy. There is also talk of a potential concert in South Korea that has them on edge. However, given Ye's history, it would not be surprising if the Korean listening party never materialized beyond just a rumor as well, much like 'Vultures 2'.
