Only those unaware of Taylor Swift's existence would not consider themselves fans. From common to elite and Tinseltown to athletic grounds, the 34-year-old has captured hearts far and wide. The scale of the Taylor Swift phenomenon has been on full display with her Eras Tour but her true measure of impact was recently hinted at by her best friend, Ice Spice, who too was caught up in a fan-girl moment when she first had the chance to collaborate with the pop icon.

Spice recently recounted the moment she found out she would be credited on a Swift record, revealing that it is not just the fans filling stadiums who are star-struck by Swift, but also those who find themselves on Billboard charts and the red carpet.

Ice Spice recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and, naturally, she talked about her best pal, Taylor Swift. Reflecting on how their collaboration on Swift’s track, ‘Karma’ marked the commencement of their sisterhood, Spice recreated the moment she learned Swift wanted her on the record. She recalled receiving the news from her manager while trying to stay composed during the call. However, once the call ended and the reality of the situation sunk in, she could not help “bawling” like a baby in disbelief.

Spice recounted that after hanging up, it was finally time for her to allow herself to embrace the fan-girl moment she had always dreamed of. The Bronx rapper even replayed the moment for Fallon, describing how she strolled into her walk-in closet, crouched down, and whispered to herself, "Taylor wants to work with me," in a dreamy tone. While it might have felt like a dream then, in reality, it was a dream come true.

Ice Spice recently spoke with Rolling Stone Magazine for a new cover story, reminiscing when her manager first informed her about the Taylor Swift collaboration, which also marked the beginning of their friendship. Although she refers to Swift as her "closest celebrity friend," the rapper expressed her frustration over recent comments suggesting that Swift’s interest in her was merely a strategic move to leverage Spice’s fame. “Taylor f**ks with me,” she stated, puzzled by why some fans would think otherwise.

This, however, was not the first time she has defended Swift. Earlier this month, during the Rolling Loud Concert in Europe, Spice faced a chorus of boos while performing the remix of ‘Karma,’ her collaboration with Swift. Despite the negativity, she responded by blowing kisses to the haters. While there have been many moments showcasing the depth of their friendship, this was likely the first time fans saw the Swiftie in Spice.
