While Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has definitely made a comeback on paper, given how he dropped the second volume of 'Vultures' last month albeit after several delays, the music and Ye evidently were lacking a crucial element that made fans miss the old Ye. However, fans did not know they were up against Zach Bryan in this contest.

Whether anybody can strike a chord as soulfully as Zach Bryan is debatable, but whether anyone can miss Ye as desperately as Zack Bryan, owing to his recent tweets, has a clear-cut answer.

It seems that while the world was busy debating Ye's latest opus, Zach Bryan was busy outdoing everyone in one arena; missing the old Ye. What started with the singer waxing poetic about the iconic 'Dropout' era as he posted 'Who Will Survive in America', 'Flashing Lights', and 'All Falls Down' along with the caption "I miss and love ya everyday." Given the genius behind these tracks, it is a recurrent theme for music enthusiasts to come back to this church. However, Bryan took things further as he dropped several other tweets, all joined at the hip by the sentiment of him 'missing Ye'.

It seems that listening to Ye's old tracks took the songwriter back to the era when the Atlanta rapper's name would roar at music award shows several times in a row and a sold-out album would be a given. However, even in his nostalgic haze, Zach Bryan was clear about not "supporting" Ye, but simply missing him.

Much like the entourage of big brands that dissociated from Ye, it seems like even for arguably one of his biggest fans, stomaching his controversies and supporting him through it is an impossible task.

The 'Dropout' era of Ye, which has the power to evoke nostalgia even in a rock, was a time when Ye's risky yet quirky personality went hand in hand with his musical genius. While there were times when the latter outdid the former, as he proceeded further into the industry, the balance grew weaker, only to be completely lost in recent years. From 'white lives matter' t-shirts to anti-Semitic tweets, the heap of controversies only grew.

As these controversies resulted in the breaking of the glass ceiling not by Ye but on Ye, the rapper had to take much-needed time off. However, fans believed that whenever he would come back, he would be just as much as the musical genius from his earlier days. That their assumption did not translate to reality becomes clear by the very public cry for help of Zach Bryan missing Ye.
