How Taylor Swift’s Carbon Footprint Sparked the Clash of Public Opinion
Taylor Swift might be one of the world’s biggest pop stars, but that is not the only reason she keeps making headlines. While she did take over the world with ‘The Eras Tour’ and her re-released albums last year, climate activists were not impressed with the singer’s growing increase in CO2 emissions. With such immense fame, there also comes a huge responsibility. However, she seems to have dropped the ball with her jet-setting trips across the country.

Over the years, Taylor Swift has constantly made headlines with her various musical achievements and business acumen. While she might be celebrated for her capabilities, her environmental impact has been brought to light. Ever since she bought her Dassault Falcon 900LX back in 2011, the 34-year-old has received a lot of backlash for her CO2 emissions. Just last year, she once again topped the list for the biggest celebrity polluter with her frequent trips to visit Travis Kelce to support him and watch him play.
It was revealed that her trips had resulted in 138 tons of carbon emissions that were harmful to the planet. While sources close to her have claimed that not all of it was done by her, as she loans out her jet, not everyone seems to be on board with that answer. Unfortunately, her carbon footprint has only increased over the years. However, the singer seems to have a plan in store to try and keep things under control.
After racking up quite a high amount of pollution in the last year, Swift seems to have found a way to get her haters off her back.
Taylor Swift’s plan to reduce her carbon footprint
Just days ago, it was revealed by the Wall Street Journal that Taylor Swift was trying to reduce her carbon footprint. While it might be a little too late, the singer had turned to carbon offsets to try and set things right. It came after her fans were outraged by the 138 tons of pollution she had added to in the last year alone. Carbon offsetting is a way of cutting out greenhouse gas emissions by restoring lands, planting trees, and even buying carbon credits from others.
