Even other celebrities are not immune from the Kanye West and Taylor Swift drama. In what can be described as one of the most memorable incidents in music history, the two ended up creating a lifelong rivalry that refuses to die down. The incident that happened during the 2019 VMAs keeps resurfacing on the internet, stirring up the pot.

Both of them had supposedly moved on after Ye apologized for his actions. But the fans are clearly not over the drama, and caught between it all was singer Dua Lipa. Here is how she managed to anger Swifties over one answer and clarified it later.

Should the art be separated from the artist? That is the question Dua Lipa was left wondering about after she chose the ‘Donda’ singer over the ‘Love Story’ singer. Lipa revealed during an interview with Rolling Stone about her clarification on her answer. In a 2016 interview, she was asked to make a pick between Kanye West and Taylor Swift, when she choose the former. Two years later, she clarified,  “I was thinking about their music.” As per her, Ye would have come above any musician as she is a big fan of hip-hop and him.

The clarification came after she was criticized by Swifties for choosing the rapper, especially considering his equation with the country singer. They initially appreciated her for wearing a Taylor Swift t-shirt, but her old video soon surfaced. The ‘Levitating’ singer confessed to getting mean comments from Swifties, with some even wishing her death and calling her a snake.

Lipa was not the only one to face the brunt of supposedly choosing sides in the West-Swift fued. Several celebrities have spoken out on the VMA situation and got dragged over it as well. A reminder of that incident came again due to the Eras Tour recently.

During her recent performance in Seattle, the Grammy-winning singer sang her hit number ‘This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’. She chuckled as she sang the lyrics, and fans took it as a reminder of her feud with Ye. She struggled to finish the sentence, as everyone knew it was pointed at the rapper and his then-wife Kim Kardashian. The song came a year after Ye’s controversial video ‘Famous’ which showed Swift’s lookalike in bed.

Kim Kardashian sneakily took his side by referring to Swift as a “b*tch”, adding fuel to the fire. The socialite also shared only a portion of a recorded phone call (the complete version of which reached people later) to disprove Swift’s claims of never having been consulted about the contents of West’s ‘Famous.’ This proved that the feud was far from over, even after making peace in public.
