Will Smith may have kicked off his career in the music industry back in the 80s, and now it looks like his daughter, Willow Smith is taking over the reins. Right from her childhood, she has been making music and building her own fan base. But with little over a decade since her first hit song, ‘Whip My Hair,’ the singer received the compliment of a lifetime from a 6-time Grammy-winning Funk band.

Recently, one of Willow Smith’s covers garnered attention from the band she had covered, Earth, Wind, & Fire. It was a rendition of their 1975 song, ‘Reasons’. And to no one’s surprise, the 6-time Grammy winner loved it as much as her fans and followers did. In fact, not only did the icons comment “Beautiful” but they also re-shared her cover to their story earlier today. It was captioned with a little yellow heart that was sure to have sent Smith into a fangirl meltdown.
While their interaction with her cover probably made the ‘Fireball’ singer’s day, theirs was not the only comment that got attention. Along with the famous Funk band, there was also a Grammy-winning rocker in the comments. Lenny Kravitz also praised Will Smith’s daughter for being given the right type of “education” and said how much he loves to see her playing some Verdine White.
While the compliment came after the 22-year-old surprised her social media followers, the cover of the 1975 song had everyone losing their minds over how good she was.

After dazzling at the Milan Fashion Week, Willow Smith surprised her fans with ‘Reasons’ that she posted on her Instagram. The song from the band is from their 1975 album, ‘That’s the Way of the World.’ It was initially mistaken to be a love song but was rather about the story of a one-night stand, as lead singer Philip Bailey once revealed. The 22-year-old went a different route, playing the classic in her own style.
While the singer enamored everyone with her funky vibe, it was her bass skills that left everyone shaken, including the band members themselves. Throughout the video, fans and followers could see the star bopping along to the beat as she completely got into the music. However, from her latest rendition, one thing is certain, she is extremely talented. And hopefully, she will not leave her fans waiting too long for her next cover.
