The death of one Swiftie has put Taylor Swift and her team on high alert. A note rolled out on her Instagram story revealed she will not take the stage on Saturday, November 18 as planned. The Grammy winner shared the message for thousands of attendees from her dressing room. “The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio,” she said.
Taking the record-breaking temperatures in Brazil into consideration, she decided to put the safety of her fans and crew members first. The 33-year-old has not confirmed when the Brazil show will be rescheduled. But ticket holders will be informed through email notifications in the future.
The heat index in Rio had risen as high as 59 degrees centigrade in the day. So it only makes sense that the ‘Lover’ singer does not wish to put more lives at risk. However, this was certainly not the first time she had postponed her concert due to weather problems.

About ten days back, Taylor Swift was going to perform in Argentina, but just hours before her second show at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, she postponed it through another announcement. “I love a rain show but I’m never going to endanger my fans or my fellow performers and crew,” she wrote. The weather was truly chaotic in the city at that moment, so the musician, who turned billionaire recently, put a halt to the concert for the day.
The news devastated fans who spent thousands of dollars to travel to another country in order to see the pop sensation. But when the show took place two days later, it was a total blast. So fans who gathered in Rio need to be a little more patient as the good news might drop soon.
