Taylor Swift’s dominance in the music industry is known to everyone, given the several records and awards she has bagged. She further cemented her stature when she released her tour-inspired movie, which is currently riding the success machine with its $250 million collection worldwide. Meanwhile, with more than $900 million in ticket sales, the starlet’s tour is on track to overtake Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour and become the highest-grossing tour ever.
While the official records are yet to be made public, the estimates show that Swift is all set to take over John’s record. These estimations are especially significant because Swift accomplished this milestone with only 53 shows in less than six months, as opposed to Elton John’s 135 shows over four years. As a result, outstanding stats indicate that the ‘Reputation’ singer may take the lead in this one.
Now only The Eras Tour, but the tour-inspired film has shaken several records previously held by Barbie and the Marvel legends.

Given the tremendous start it had with pre-sales, The Eras Tour was destined to accomplish miracles. The anticipation surrounding the movie was so high that the Swifties crashed through the AMC websites. Further, in the first 24 hours, it garnered a whopping $26 million in North America, surpassing the Marvel blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $16.9 million collection. As previously reported by Deadline, Swift’s The Eras Tour sold out 4,200 showtimes in the United States for opening night, surpassing Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, which had 500.
Now the movie is perfectly sitting at the top spot after collecting more than $250 million worldwide, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. While the singer has already finished the final part of her South American tour, she will return to the stage in February 2024 after a well-deserved hiatus.
