No matter whose interview it is, Kanye West becomes a topic of discussion. The rapper who began his career in the early 2000s has remained active and known for his work. Regardless of his controversies, he is making a successful comeback to both music and fashion in the past few months now. While some are still against him, some others still sing his praises, purely for the talent that they have seen and worked with.

Ye is known for being a big collaborator who has collaborated with many artists on different songs. Before being established as a rapper, he was known for his production skills. The latest one to remember him is fellow rapper Lil Wayne.

What Lil Wayne had to say of Kanye West?

Lil Wayne, who has made a name for himself with songs like ‘Lollipop, Love Me, The Formula’, believes Kanye West is a genius. He revealed on the AllTheSmoke podcast about Ye’s work and how much he appreciates it. “He is a total genius,” said Lil Wayne, explaining the reasons behind it. As per him, only a person who can understand music and has a passion for it will be able to credit Ye’s work.

The rapper also joked about how West can also manage to be ‘east’, as in creating a variety whether it is normal rap or a gospel. Even today Ye can manage to fill arenas for his performance and Lil Wayne hails him for it. While he may have had his set of controversies, no one can deny the musical skills that he has.

Ye was hired by other rappers in his early years for his production skills. One of the hit ones was the ‘Mr. Carter’ song was produced back in 2007 for Lil Wayne for the album Carter III.

They also sang together, along with Eminem and Drake, for the 2009 song, ‘Forever,’ from the album ‘More than a Game’. Although the two have not worked together ever since, Ye coming back to music might make this happen.
