Travis Scott has had 10 Grammy nominations in his career, but so far, has not managed to grab the golden prize. The rapper has been on record expressing how Grammys are more than just another trophy on the shelf to him- it is a literal badge of honor. Especially under the mentorship of a hip-hop mogul like Ye, aka Kanye West, who boasts a Grammy count of a whopping 24, it is not hard to see why Scott is so desperate to join the exclusive Grammy club. Recently, he made his wish known to the world once again.

Travis Scott took to his Instagram story to share a picture of the coveted Grammy award, all while promoting his 'Days Before Rodeo' mixtape re-release. He captioned his story with “one day,” and those two words spoke volumes about his hunger to win a Grammy someday. Earlier this year, at the 2024 Grammys, there was hope that this would be Scott’s lucky break to get his first Grammy- since he was also in the running for Best Rap Album with 'UTOPIA'.

The winner, however, turned out to be Killer Mike. But Scott did not let the setback get him down. Back in April, the rapper got brutally honest on LeBron James' show The Shop. He said that being recognized for his work and being honored among his peers is crucial to him- as the Grammy’s glitter still carries a lot of weight for him. "It’s what that Grammy used to mean is the idea I hold on to," said Scott.

Fans can see the fire in Travis Scott’s belly for the honor, and they seem to sympathize with the rapper as well. 

Travis Scott might not have walked away with a traditional Grammy, but he did win a Latin Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video with TKN. However, clearly, that win did not quite quench the rapper’s thirst for the most coveted prize in the music world. Fans are convinced Scott should have already claimed a Grammy and that "he's been robbed" by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, unfairly. 

While some fans are holding out hope alongside Scott, others believe he is bigger than the Grammy itself and should just let it slide already.

There are many bigwigs in the music world who would be flicking off at the Grammys. But Scott is not quite there yet. And while it is tough to be passed over year after year at the ceremony without a prize, especially when he is hired to perform so many, many times- Travis Scott’s star power and influence is clearly not going to be dimmed by a mere missing Grammy.
