Taylor Swift may have millions of eyes tracking her every move, but some of her hidden gems are still waiting to be discovered by fans. Since her debut album in 2006, the pop star has churned out 243 tracks in total. And it is no small feat for any casual Swiftie to sift through every tune, much less unravel the subtle messages and layers woven into her lyrics and music. Yet, there are fans like Hayley Williams, who has a knack for spotting even the most overlooked songwriting treasures of Taylor Swift.

Williams recently shined a light on the second least-streamed song from Taylor Swift’s eighth studio album, 'Folklore'.

Hayley Williams recently did an interview with Vogue, where she revealed her favorite Taylor Swift track. “It’s probably 'Hoax' from 'Folklore',” said the ‘Decode’ songstress. 'Hoax' happens to be the second least-streamed 'Folklore' song on Spotify, yet no list of the 'most underrated Taylor Swift songs' would be complete without a mention of this hidden gem. Williams chose this under-the-radar track because, in her own words, it is "beautiful" but also "kind of a little toxic".

The 2020 album 'Folklore', with its emotional depth and introspective lyrics, has found a permanent spot in every Swiftie’s playlist. While tracks like 'August' are still a pop culture staple, which can be gauged from the recent 'August Slipped Away' trend on Instagram, an underrated track, 'My Tears Ricochet' from the same album recently secured a feature in Blake Lively’s controversial project, It Ends With Us.

The first two things fans noticed as soon as It Ends With Us dropped its trailer were how the casting was nothing like what book readers had imagined and Taylor Swift’s track, ‘My Tears Ricochet’. In an interview with Extra TV, Blake Lively shared that the song is used during a "very important" and "critical" life-changing moment in Lily’s journey, one that completely shifts her perspective on what her future holds.

Lively also mentioned to Entertainment Tonight at Book Bonanza in Texas that she could have chosen any of Swift’s songs, as they are all "unmatched". While 'My Tears Ricochet' is now quite popular, it was once one of Swift’s most underrated songs. That said, it is clear Swift’s industry friends are her biggest fans, who are well-acquainted with the hidden gems of her music that the broader public often misses.
