Halsey Might “crash the stage” to See BLACKPINK’s Lisa Perform at the VMAs
The worst year of any MTV VMA event would be one without a shocking moment. The VMAs, beyond their star-studded red carpet, awards, and extravagant performances, are also known for their controversies and jaw-dropping moments. And there is nothing more shocking at the VMAs than a good old-fashioned 'stage crash,' and history can back that up. It has sparked celebrity feuds that have simmered for years. Despite the bad reputation stage crashers have earned at the VMAs, Halsey is still down to doing it- such is her love for BLACKPINK’s Lisa.
Halsey recently revealed her excitement to see Lisa perform at the VMAs, and she would not miss it for the world.

During a recent chat with Brady on SiriusXM, Halsey shared what she is most hyped about at this year’s VMAs. She gave a huge shoutout to BLACKPINK’s Lisa and could not stop raving about how much she admired the K-pop sensation. “I think she's so fun—she's so cute,” said the 29-year-old. The ‘Without Me’ singer then gushed over how Lisa always looks like she is having the time of her life on stage, which pulls others right in with her energy. “Maybe I'll crash the stage,” she joked.
This year, Lisa will be the first K-pop soloist to ever perform at the VMAs since the awards began. With four nominations, the 27-year-old singer and rapper is also the most-nominated K-pop act this year after she made history as the first K-pop soloist to win a VMA in 2022 for her track ‘Lalisa.’ But Lisa is not stopping with just that one milestone.
Now that she has secured the rights to her own work, Lisa has her sights set on the influence of the biggest pop star out there today, who also had her own wild run-ins with VMA stage crashers.

The pop star in question is, of course, Taylor Swift. Swift has had her fair share of drama at the VMAs, although, in a way, they only boosted her popularity and visibility in the industry. Swift fought hard to reclaim her old albums and ownership rights, ultimately winning them back after a long battle with some of the biggest players in the music business. Lisa recently praised the "incredible" Swift in her interview with Elle magazine and even hinted that she would not mind doing an Eras-like tour of her own.
“I maybe could do it with a lot of practice,” Lisa said. The 27-year-old has now moved on from YG Entertainment to shape her solo career and took control of her music under LLOUD. She now owns her master recordings, something she believes is “not easy for anyone to be able to get.” With the Korean star hitting one milestone after another, it is easy to understand why Halsey is so excited about Lisa’s first VMA performance.
