“Give 808s another chance”- Ye Lovers and Swifties Meet Halfway With Suggestions Over Fan-Fueled Album Rankings

Ye aka Kanye West and Taylor Swift may not see eye-to-eye given their past fireworks that live rent-free in everyone’s heads. Once sworn rivals in the trenches of the 2009 MTV VMAs fallout—fueling years of lyrical jabs and call-out chaos—Ye’s stans and Swifties have spent over a decade hurling digital daggers across the Internet battlefield. But in a plot twist, no one saw coming, these fandoms seem to be laying down their swords or at least momentarily bonding over fan-made album rankings. So, could this be the dawn of a truce era for these longtime nemeses?

A Taylor Swift fan waded into the depths of Ye’s discography and recently took to Reddit to deliver a ranking that had hip-hop fans utterly attentive. With the precision of seasoned critics, they sorted the albums into six tiers, starting with ‘Late Registration’ and ‘The College Dropout,’ hailed as “genuinely some of the best music ever made.” Just a step down in the “extremely good” category sat the certified bangers in their book, ‘Yeezus,’ ‘Graduation,’ ‘The Life of Pablo,’ and ‘Kids See Ghosts.’

Next up, the “great” tier housed ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ and ‘Ye,’ proving that even an outsider could recognize the game-changers. Meanwhile, ‘808s & Heartbreak,’ ‘Watch the Throne,’ and ‘Cruel Summer’ landed in the “good” zone, though appreciated, not obsessed over. Things got a little hazy in the “lowkey mid, but some songs were great” category where ‘Donda’ and ‘Ye’ were found. But the proper heat came with the bottom rankers, ‘Vultures 1 & 2,’ which were banished to a brutal “a--” ranking.

Although this is not the first time Ye’s ‘Vultures’ series has landed in critics’ purgatory, his fandom was more concerned about a few other records, including ‘808s & Heartbreak.’

After the album rankings, many may have thought a war was inevitable within the fanbase. But showbiz has the biggest curveballs in their store, and this one did not fall short in any. “Probably the best list,” a Ye fan commented, though ranking ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ that low felt non-negotiable. Another warned the new fan in the club of the danger they were about to encounter, convinced that “the more times you listen, the higher they rank.”

Most fans welcomed the list with open arms, but some hearts were broken over his 2008 album, suggesting they “give 808s another chance.” While a few fans also vouched for ‘Donda,’ many agreed that his ‘Vultures’ series was actually “passable.” Plot twists were already unfolding left and right, but the real shocker? A Swiftie sparked the ignite in Ye’s die-hard fans to “Though plot twists were already emerging in more ways than one, the last one that no one would have thought was how the Swiftie prompted Ye’s loyal base to “wanna go back and listen to all of them again .”
