Future Inches Closer to Legends Ye, Eminem and Drake as His Album With Metro Boomin Hits a Special Milestone
The music industry, particularly the hip-hop genre, is undergoing a transformation with the emergence of fresh craft from various influential corners of the scene, providing fans with a taste of the genre's unforgettable roots. As one artist after another contributes to this hip-hop renaissance, the playlists of Generation Z now reflect those of the millennials. Collaboration serves as the pathway to contemporary brilliance, as evidenced by Future teaming up with Metro Boomin, a move that aligns him with musical heavyweights such as Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), Eminem, and Drake.
With its rise at the top of the contender’s chart, it makes one wonder if Future is calling for a hip-hop showdown against the music moguls.

For hip-hop enthusiasts, 2024 is the year to relive and rewrite history with the seasoned makers of the scene. However, with the simultaneous charting of the established artists also comes unavoidable competition. As Ye found himself in a challenging position due to Future and Metro Boomin's 'We Don't Trust You' album, fans were already feeling concerned. However, with the album's debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, with 251K sales units, the concern has hopped onto Eminem and Drake fans as well.
As per the chart history of Billboard 200, Future rests in the fifth position with 9 No.1 albums to date. Taking the first spot is Jay Z with 14 albums and the next is Drake with 13. Ye seems to be two score points less than Drake and Eminem with one less than the ‘Carnival’ hitmaker. But with Future’s swift ascent to the Billboard Charts, it is claiming the position of being the biggest debut album of the year, making every other comeback of these musical tycoons shy.
For Future, it is one reason to celebrate his artistry but for the collaborators, there is another owing to its streaming sensation since it has landed them in a race with Taylor Swift as well.

As per Billboard’s math, the sum of 251K units translates to 324.31 million official streams for the set’s songs. Hence, not only Ye, Eminem, Drake, and Jay-Z but Future and Metro Boomin are also giving steep competition to Taylor Swift. As per the reports, ‘We Don’t Trust You’ has achieved the biggest streaming week for any album since Taylor Swift’s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ which stacked 375.49 million clicks for its songs.
Furthermore, ‘We Don't Trust You’ has also claimed the biggest streaming week for any album by Future and Metro Boomin itself. Although it is only one part of the album claiming such a massive feat in a short time, one can only speculate the frenzy its sequel will bring. Hence, for that, a wait of less than two weeks holds all answers, but for music fans, unfortunately, it is one more reason to edge on a cliffhanger.
