As humans, pop culture and society not only affect us, but we affect it too. Iconic art and artists shape the culture of the time, influencing the masses. Just like every other industry, music has also seen evolution through time. In the case of rap and hip-hop, the majority of artists had to go through difficult times before being taken seriously. But once the genre became a hit amongst generations, young talent began popping up. Kanye West being one of the biggest examples.
An account on Twitter asked fans what their biggest ‘what if’, in music history was, and the answers were interesting to say the least. The majority of them gave answers regarding the hip-hop world. The discussion involved Kanye West, the late rapper Tupac, Eminem, Biggie, etc. Certain circumstances, events, and mishaps altered things that were supposed to or were not supposed to happen in an unexpected way. While some projects were left incomplete, some other situations make fans wonder about the different outcomes if a late rapper was still alive.

In the case of Kanye West, he went through a major car accident back in October 2022. But instead of resting after the near-fatal incident, the rapper wrote his ‘Through the Wire’ song. He sang it through his mouth wired shut, making it one of the biggest inspirational stories today. Tupac, on the other hand, was one of the biggest names at the time, who suddenly passed away in 1996 after being shot.
Rap and hip hop fans in the comments expressed their point of view on the ‘what if ‘ question.

It is only natural to wonder about the ‘what if’ question about our favorite musicians, especially when things do not go as one imagines. For instance, one fan imagined what would have happened if Ye had not survived the incident.

If Pac was never killed. With how much socially conscious music as risen to the forefront of the genre, think of all of the music he would have made. He was always wise beyond his years but imagine a 40-50 year old version. He’d still be a leader of the community today.

One even recalled West interrupting Taylor Swift’s speech during the 2009 VMA Awards wondering what would have happened if Beyonce won the award instead of Swift?. Then there were comments about his 2018 Yandhi (supposedly a portmanteau of Kanye West and Mahatma Gandhi) album that saw the light of day. Supposedly a portmanteau of Kanye West and Mahatma Gandhi.
