For the First Time in 33 Years, Taylor Swift Becomes the Only Artist Ever to Clinch a Billboard Record
The era is all hers. Taylor Swift closed the year with the honor of being both Spotify and Apple Music’s Artist of the Year. Thereafter, she rang in the new year with a bevy of records to her name. Now, a week in, the singer remains nowhere close to losing any steam. Rather, in a bold show of dominance, the star showcased that no chart stood beyond her reach. The acclaimed pop star just extended one hand up to the highest echelons of glory that none other has yet achieved in Billboard history.
Among the countless artists that have come before her, a feat of this stature makes even the biggest names in music feel her presence.

In 1991, Billboard launched and soon became the leading metric to gauge an artist’s success on the wider public. Now, in its 33 years of existence, Taylor Swift has become the only artist ever to occupy 7 of the Top 10 places on Billboard’s Album Sales Chart. The feat comes close on the heels of the singer closing in on The Weeknd to seal another honor on the platform’s charts. The bold feat came on the backs of her latest ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ album.
In a staggering dominance, the ‘Wildest Dreams’ bejeweled album marked its 4th consecutive week on the top of the charts and 9th overall. Meanwhile, ‘Lover’ held the highest privilege of staying on the charts for the 195th straight week. Interestingly, the record-clinching win came barely a day before Taylor Swift stands slated to make possible history at the 81st Golden Globes Awards 2024.
In another first of its own, Swift became one of the first-ever nominees for a non-music-related category.

Taylor Swift made history when her The Eras Tour concert movie landed a nod for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Golden Globes 2024. A first-of-its-kind category, the singer’s entry competes head-to-head with the likes of Oppenheimer and Barbie. However, a win will not only give her the honor of becoming the first ever to win the award but also mark her only Golden Globe win.
Set to grace the red carpet, Taylor Swift will, however, not have Travis Kelce beside her. An unfortunate scheduling of a game in Los Angeles has the tight end tending to duty. Nonetheless, if a win does come her way, its talk shall echo far and wide across the globe in an undisputed show of her prominence.
