Taylor Swift and Spotify have maintained a unique partnership over the years, from the platform's exclusive features for her songs to promotional deals like the one for ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. Her consistent chart-topping success on Spotify underscores her superstardom. However, despite achieving a historic milestone with her 11th studio album, Swift has recently been outpaced by her contemporary rival, Billie Eilish, on that very streamer she has made headlines for reigning supreme.

Frequently criticized for allegedly hindering the 'Bad Guy' singer with her album variants, the 34-year-old still fell behind Eilish, who has now made history on Spotify.

The fan-driven tension between Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish has emerged as one of the most captivating feuds in the music industry which started in a Billboard interview, where Eilish took issue with artists flooding the market with vinyl variants. Although Swift soon faced backlash for allegedly overshadowing Eilish with her digital releases, Eilish seemingly had the final payoff having recently made history by becoming Spotify’s most-streamed monthly artist, with 101.1 million listeners for the first time in her career.

With this achievement, the 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' hitmaker becomes the youngest female artist and the top artist in Spotify history to have the most monthly listeners globally, surpassing The Weeknd and Swift. Previously, Eilish surpassed Swift's record for the biggest all-female debut on Spotify with her remix of 'Guess' featuring Charli XCX, outpacing Swift's 'Karma (Remix)' with Ice Spice. Now, with this latest milestone, Eilish has firmly established her dominance on the turf once ruled by the Eras Tour showrunner.

Taylor Swift released the highly anticipated ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ in April, and since its debut, it has consistently shattered records. Even months after its release, Swift’s 11th studio album continues to dominate nearly every chart it graces, maintaining a near-permanent position at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. With 15 non-consecutive weeks at the top of Billboard 200, the album has firmly established itself as a powerhouse.

In the most recent tracking period, the album experienced a remarkable surge in sales, with a 600% increase from the previous week, according to Forbes. This boost propelled Swift’s album from No. 6 to the zenith on the Top Album Sales Chart. On the Vinyl Albums chart, the album made an even more impressive leap, climbing from tenth to first place. The only chart where Swift has not reached the summit is the Top Streaming Albums Chart, where she remains at No. 2. However, given her track record of success, it may not be long before she secures that position.
