Ye and Detroit R&B singer Dwele’s song ‘Flashing Lights’ received a whopping 1 million+ streams and made a cut to the global Spotify chart, reported by chart data. Being one of the best songs in the timeless album ‘Graduation,’ it was a chartbuster back then. The album won several accolades, including the AMA favorite rap/hip-hop album award and Grammy, after its release and remains a classic for West’s fans. What we can gauge from the Spotify update, the song hasn’t lost its charm even after 15 years!

It would seem Spotify’s decision seemed to have worked for them, as many of Ye’s chartbusters are creating a buzz on the music streaming platform.

Notably, Spotify stood by Ye even during all the chaos ignited by his controversial remarks and stances. When asked by Reuters whether the platform will remove Ye’s songs after the anti-Semitic controversy that had experts drawing parallels between him and a French activist, Spotify chief Daniel Ek confirmed that they will not unless the label requested it since Ye’s songs have not violated any of its policies.
