“Fashion is merely an opinion. And I’ve got a lot of opinions.” This Kanye West quote is probably the Yeezy founder’s most prolific, summing up both his creative genius and mastery over the art. Despite losing his design brand’s endorsement at the hands of fashion conglomerates like Adidas and more, Ye has not conceded defeat. Not only does the ‘Donda’ rapper continue to design and launch new products, but he is also expanding his network by mingling with like-minded artists. 

The 24-time Grammy winner recently made a fellow designer’s day through a message of encouragement and appreciation. 

Ye blesses a fellow fashionista’s designs

A designer from Germany, Mona Thomas shared some screenshots of a DM she got from West on Instagram today reading “Love this”. It is not clear which product created by her he was referring to, or maybe it was her collection’s overall aesthetic. Especially considering how her designs mirror the ethos of Ye’s wardrobe, in particular an exaggerated puffer jacket and pants black co-ord she offers. 

The exchange which was shared on X (previously Twitter) just a while ago melted netizens’ hearts. To see him reach out and bless a fellow creative mind without hesitation is rather special. Her brand titled Huni Design carries a range of novel apparel and accessories including headwear, eyewear and jewelry. Maybe fans can expect to see a collaborative effort between these designers sometime soon. 

After all, Ye just announced his return to the fashion game with futuristic accessories himself.

Last month, Kanye West launched the latest addition to his Yeezy collection, pods! The solid-hued sock shoe combination footwear’s exemption of laces has been an obsession of Ye’s for a while now. His reprisal of Yeezy footwear enthralled fans who had wondered if he would return to designing after the embarrassing episode with Adidas.  A few days ago, he stepped out in his pods, marketing it the best way he can, endorsing it himself. 

While some of his fans are focused on the delays to his ‘Vultures’ album, others are transfixed by his ability to churn out innovations back-to-back. Many find the 46-year-old’s new venture as exciting as his musical endeavors. After having announced pods’ arrival through Instagram, West seems to have gotten more active on Instagram judging by his exchange with Thomas, maybe signaling a social media comeback next.
