Fans Lock Heads as They Put Kanye West, Nas, and Jay-Z on The Grand Hip-Hop Podium
The great hip-hop debate to declare the ‘best one’ never really ends, but one can keep trying. Kanye West, Nas, and Jay-Z are some of the biggest names that changed the industry over the 50 years of its existence. Their era began in the early 2000s and they still rule the genre, beating younger competitors with their ever-evolving music. Feuds, controversies, and net worth apart, their pure talent keeps hip-hop lovers stuck by them even in their years of absence.
Each supporting their own favorite, social media often ends up in a debate to declare a winner. The latest tweet by a user was shared by a Kanye West fan page, which had an old photo of Ye with Nas, and Jay Z. The three may not be together or on the best of terms anymore, but each is known for their accomplishments. The page aligned each of them as per their discography, ranking Ye at the top position, followed by Nas and Kanye West.

Rest of the Twitter also got on the discussion to put forth their opinions. Now, Jay-Z was already an established performer, with Ye being his go-to producer during the early years. But rapper Nas is the son of musician Olu Dara and dropped his first album as early as 1994.
How do they rank today? Each fan compared by their overall performance to their releases as per their active years. The result is a fierce debate with some great examples.
Music Twitterati reacts with comparisons between Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Nas
Nas, Kanye West, and Jay-Z are often in competition for being the best hip-hoppers of all time. They have still maintained their reputation, so when a debate comes up, their discography is judged in three ways by fans. One is their overall work, the other is their album performances, and the third is the years when each rocked the most.
One feels that Jay-Z tops Nas music-wise, but another one argued it. He stated that the ‘Illmatic’ maker has given some historic music like ‘King Disease 1,2,3’, ‘God’s Son, ‘The Lost Tapes’ and many more.
Debating with a timeline, one feels that Nas’s glory period was in the 90s when he first came out with albums like ‘It was Written, and ‘I am’. This was followed by Jay-Z in his own early years. Albums like ‘The Blueprint 3, ‘American Gangster’, and ‘The Black Album’ cemented his career as a musician.
Ye shined through ‘Graduation’, ‘The College Dropout’, and ‘Late Registration’ in the early 2000s. And then ‘Yeezus’ and ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ in the decade of 2010. After that period, Nas’ ‘King’s Disease’ albums have been ruling above anyone else’s.

The common denominator in all of these debates, however, is Ye’s name being on the top. With him making a return to music now, the name could remain on top for years to come.
