The year was 2005, and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, reigned supreme. As 'Gold Digger' blared from every speaker with its unforgettable hook, "I ain't saying she a gold digger, but she ain't messing with no broke n***a," the era was a symphony of contradictions—a dazzling mix of the best of times and the worst of times. The best of times because Ye was still making new music that would surely alter one's brain chemistry, worst of times because there would not be another like 'Gold Digger'.

Ye was not lying when he said "I miss the old Kanye," because as the iconic ad of his 2005 album, 'Late Registration' resurfaced on X after years, fans could not be any more overwhelmed with emotions. Perhaps it was because the rapper's latest album pales in comparison to it or because of the nostalgia, fans on X are either in tears or full of praise.

'Late Registration,' owing to the obvious bop that it was, winged Ye out of the park as it earned him a Best Rap Album when he was not yet off the high that he garnered last year. The album marked the second of what is popularly known as the Higher Education trilogy by Ye. At the time of their release, all three albums, 'College Dropout', 'Late Registration, and 'Graduation', were taken as Gospel.

Given the golden artist that he was back then, it did not come as a surprise that the album was well received, but looking at the overwhelmed reactions of fans to its resurfaced ad tells a thing or two about the album being a masterpiece.

Ye fans gloat in nostalgia over resurfaced Late Registration ad

Much like the release of the 'Late Registration' album, the resurfacing of the same has not been anything less than a phenomenon, with fans ravishing in all the masterful details of just the ad itself. Back in the day, Ye was not just a master of putting out unskippable tracks but also curating the most astonishing rollouts. While this was a practice that disappeared with time, the resurgence of the iconic ad has given fans another reason to "miss the old Kanye."

Chants of "GOATED album" and "masterpiece" filled the comment section as music enthusiasts found themselves stunned yet again at the timeless quality of Ye's music.

Other than cementing even further that old is gold, the 2005 ad raised fan expectations for Ye and the kind of promotional strategies they want him to use for 'Vultures 2' whose delays have left a bitter taste in fans' mouth.
