Fans Hilariously Question Jack Antonoff’s Treatment of Taylor Swift, Following “insane” Production for Kendrick Lamar Album
Kendrick Lamar dropped a bomb almost suddenly on November 22 with his sixth studio album, ‘GNX,’ serving as the surprise follow-up to ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.’ While a record was in anticipation of his coattails, the release caught many off-guard. K-Dot’s undeniable mastery on the record has fans worshipping the GOAT, though it comes with a shade aimed at Taylor Swift. While the album does not explicitly connect to Swift, besides the producer, Jack Antonoff, fans are running with it, turning his difference of treatment on respective records into a troll-a-palooza for the Eras champion.
Kendrick Lamar was long involved in a rap feud that made the hip-hop atmosphere alive again. Although that brawl has fizzled out like a running breeze, his ‘GNX’ album and Jack Antonoff’s “insane” production have sparked a thread of hilarity about the difference in his production for K-Dot and Taylor Swift. An X user, Clementine, recently questioned whether Antonoff was giving his scraped instrumentals for Swift while saving the best for the ‘Not Like Us’ artist.

The troll fest was inevitable with the thread bearing hundreds of thousands of non-Swifties with fewer Taylor Swift fans around to play the defense. However, one thing that many may have missed out on is that Jack Antonoff is not really the sole producer of ‘GNX.’ Besides him, Craig Balmoris, Bridgeway, Dahi, Deats, Noah Ehler, Frano, Juju, Kenny & Billy, Rose Lilah, Tim Maxey, Sean Momberger, M-Tech, Mustard, Sounwave, and Kamasi Washington among others have produced the record as well.
While some fans put out a reasonable front, not flowing into the trap of unnecessary trolls, most seemed to somehow agree to it.
Jack Antonoff’s production for Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift sparks a face-off between rational vs. irrational fans
Not so long ago, there were rumors in the air that Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar might collaborate, which prompted a massive elation within fans at the potential of their second tie-in. Although the collaboration has yet to arrive, if true, a fan-waged war have already begun online over Jack Antonoff’s treatment of the respective artists. While Swift and K-Dot do not necessarily share bad blood, the trolls bring in concerns about whether that will be short-lived.
Many fans were merciless in their comparisons, equaling Antonoff’s production for Swift with “bin scraps.” However, a few folks were reasonable in pointing out that Sounwave is the main producer for ‘GNX.’

While the comparisons may seem trivial, some fans recognized the stark contrast was because of Kendrick Lamar’s need for raw, experimental, and complex beats to match his genre and style. Whereas, Swift’s music sticks to “soft-pop vibes with big, emotional crescendos.” However, despite this, the trolls were not swayed by rationality, and it seemed mocking Swift was the main spark that ignited the fire in the first place.
