Kanye West aka Ye has been a showbiz stalwart for so long that even a fleeting glance at his past can summon the lost and found. However, neither Kardashian nor his new bride Bianca Censori has been the object of fans’ recent obsession. Instead, they remain smitten with his former fiancee, whose razor-sharp fashion instincts perfectly complemented Ye’s inimitable style.

A Ye fan on X recently summoned the ghosts of the past, sharing pictures of the Atlanta native with her ex-fiancée and partner, Alexis Phifer. In the pictures, a dapper rapper and Phifer are spotted living in their own world of fashion flex with all of their appearances serving as the icing on the couture cake the other brought. From their monochromatic mojo to pastel prowess, and Louis Vuitton luxury linguistics that spoke fluent baller, every minute detail of their public appearances had them crowning Phifer.

Ye and Alexis Phifer dated back and forth from 2002 until 2008 for anyone who needs a refresher. Although they were undergoing a rough patch following the release of ‘The College Dropout,’ they were engaged for 18 months before they called it quits on April 17 years ago. While Ye’s penchant for fashion flair needs no introduction, Phifer’s portfolio reads as a well-known celebrity stylist, fashion designer, and entrepreneur.

Though the rapper has since dated quite the fashion moguls, including Bianca Censori, whose risque couture has been fodder to frenzied media, fans believe Alexis Phifer is the sole style shaman who matched “Kanye West’s swag.” 

Before finding his forever with Bianca Censori, Ye had his fair share of ‘808s & Heartbreaks.’ Despite having been in showbiz for over two and a half decades, the round-the-clock surveillance never slowed down on the rapper, giving fans a front-row seat to the romantic serenades and breakup ballads at the same time. Although Censori’s fashion sense has rounded out countless controversies, Alexis Phifer’s latest summon flips the script for every such couture conjure. 

Many fans initially thought Phifer stepped up to Ye’s plate.

A few folks, however, referenced her fashion roots to counter that argument. Some other fans credited Phifer’s aunt for opening the door to the fashion industry for Ye, with most convinced the future would have been different if they were still together. However, considering the fans wasted no time in snatching the couture crown from his former and present fashionista partner, it makes one really wonder if they ever really stood a chance.
