A few hours ago, a new ally joined team Drake, proving his staunch supporter to the Canadian rapper. 

In a rare sight following the onslaught on Drake fans and the rapper himself following ‘Not Like Us’ release, Michael Rubin, the CEO of Fanatics, chose to pick the trampled and stand by it. 

Kendrick Lamar's char-bursting diss track on Drake dominated playlists everywhere, starting from basketball arenas to kid birthday parties this summer. However, the one place it could not do bad for the Canadian rapper was billionaire CEO Michael Rubin's coveted All-White party on July 4th. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, he confirmed the song ‘Not Like Us’ was banned at his party. "It was true," Rubin said, explaining that Drake has been his “friend for a long time" and wished to stick by as he goes through his 'battle'. 

Michael Rubin continued to add that Drake did not request the ban, saying "That was a 'me' decision. I just thought it was the appropriate thing." Drake's well-wisher wanted to avoid an uncomfortable situation, as the rapper was also invited to the party. He revealed a similar close call at a BBQ, where he quickly skipped the song when Drake was about to arrive, saying he “just didn't think it was appropriate.”

While social media is on a high ride in severing the rivalries between the two rappers, Michael Rubin has had enough.

Many users online commented on how it was pity for Drake, who has arguably fallen from the ranks. Michael Rubin intervened, dispelling rumors, and stated "Drake had a great time." He emphasized the importance of resilience in the public eye, saying how it needs strength to deal with social media and its everyday trends. "You gotta be tough, you gotta take sh—t from people," he said. 

The billionaire further continued to express his admiration for Drake, calling him a highly respected artist. He saw the situation as a chance for Drake to showcase his resilience, saying that reaching greatness comes with challenges and criticism. Rubin believed Drake's strength would shine through in this test of character.
