Eras Tour Madrid: Famous for Causing Earthquakes, Taylor Swift Was a Little Too Unbearable in Spain
Apart from the extravagant sets, surprise performances, and friendship bracelets, Eras Tour is also popular for its louder-than-humanly-possible crowd. Taylor Swift has delivered some quite literal ground-shattering concerts throughout her musical tour, causing seismic activity in many states in the US. And the Eras Tour was no different for Europeans. As Taylor Swift took her record-breaking Eras Tour to Madrid on May 29, thousands of people got packed into the stadium, shouting lyrics that could be heard far and wide.
This time, however, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert may have become a little too much to handle for the non-concert-goers.

Taylor Swift’s Madrid concert was held at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, which is not legally designated as a concert venue and therefore lacks appropriate soundproofing. The Eras Tour shows, already known for their loudness, became even more disruptive for residents living in buildings neighboring the stadium. Enrique Martínez, the president of the Association of Neighbours Affected by Bernabeu, told RAC1 ahead of the concert that due to lack of soundproofing, the stadium produces "absolutely unbearable” noise.
It exceeded the legal limit of noise levels, typically set around 50-60 decibels. According to El Diario, the noise level recorded by the police was reported at 85 decibels, prompting local residents to raise complaints about deafening noise and vibrations. Despite the inconvenience experienced by Spaniards, it is highly unlikely for the government to turn its back on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. And there is one very strong reason for it.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is going to give a huge economic boost to the Spanish capital.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is a money-making machine that has not only been injecting huge amounts into the pop star’s net worth but also is a financial blessing for the countries she performs in. With the Madrid shows, the songstress is about to inject $29.5 million into the economy of the Spanish capital. The sectors that are set to reap the most profits are hotel and transport, along with the hospitality industry, clothing sales, public transport revenues, and tourism.
Despite the economic boom Taylor Swift is bringing to the capital, local residents are not convinced about trading their sleep and mental peace. The insane traffic, overcrowding, and, of course, the insufferable noise holds no public interest, according to them. It remains to be seen whether this will affect the future shows of the ‘Lover’ singer in Madrid.
