“Eminem is working”- Dr. Dre Confirms Slim Shady’s New Upcoming Album This Year on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
It has been approximately three years since fans were treated to a full body of work from Eminem. And the occasional single releases he has put out since then, such as ‘Doomsday, Pt. 2’, seem to have only left fans wanting more. Recently, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dr. Dre disclosed that “Eminem is working” on a new album, set to be released later this year.
Describing it as “fire,” the American record producer expressed that the talk show was the perfect platform for him to make such an announcement. Dr. Dre also revealed that he would get a sneak peek of the album after the show. Not only the audience of the talk show but also fans of the self-proclaimed rap god are extremely excited after this announcement. Even Eminem himself had teased this a few weeks ago.

In a January interview on his Shade 45 radio station with DJ Whoo Kid, Eminem dropped hints about new music and showed interest in teaming up with 50 Cent for a joint album. He also teased the possibility of a collaboration album before jetting off to San Francisco to catch the Detroit Lions facing off against the 49ers in the NFC championship. However, this upcoming album might present a challenge for another rap icon who has often found himself dwarfed by Eminem’s shadow – Kanye West.
As Kanye West prepares to release ‘Vultures 2’, Eminem’s upcoming album could clash with the hype of Ye’s musical resurgence.

The collaboration on ‘Forever’ is just iconic. However, the process of bringing this popular track to fruition was unexpectedly challenging, primarily due to the involvement of Eminem. Kanye West, known for his audacity and boldness, found himself grappling with self-doubt upon coming across Eminem’s exceptional verses for the song, as revealed in Ye’s statement to Daily Rap Facts.
The ‘Donda’ rapper spent two days rewriting his verses, canceling all appointments to match Eminem’s level. Even in 2022, Kanye West found himself overshadowed by Eminem in a RapTV list of the top five rappers based on streams. With such stiff competition, Ye may need to roll up his sleeves for the ultimate comeback in 2024 if Eminem indeed releases an album in the same year.
