Bo Belmont, the new owner of the rapper's former Tadao Ando-designed luxury mansion, slammed the rapper's design choices as foolish. "That was a really dumb move. Really no purpose," Belmont stated in an interview with The LA Times, specifically criticizing Ye's decision to remove the glazing from the floors. He described the changes Ye made as "mostly cosmetic."
Ye's eccentric ideas, including turning stairs into slides, floors into trampolines, and camouflaging the exterior, will be reversed. Putting forth his opinion, the new owner aims to erase any trace of Ye's ownership, as if he was “never there”. Belmont the new handler of the property, is thus set to undo Ye's modifications, returning the house to its former glory, free from the rapper's unconventional vision.
Not just in words, but Belmont’s seriousness in reversing Ye’s alterations is visible in his willingness to free his pockets.

According to LA Times, Bo Belmont has plans to invest $6-8 million to restore the property to being one of the jewels of land. Working with Marmol Radziner, the initial builders, his goal is to flip the house for a profit, benefiting investors in his company. The firm reportedly allows public micro-investments in high-end real estate. Jason Oppenheim represented Ye in the sale, which closed Thursday.
Ye’s mansion has thus changed hands officially, with Belmont purchasing the property for $21 million. Ye bought the home in 2021 for $57 million. Belmont credited the significant price drop to Ye's unconventional renovation attempts, which didn't meet city standards. "He does things his own way," Belmont noted, emphasizing the city's strict regulations.
